Weekend at the campus of XLRI

This is the weekend spent on XLRI campus. It is a lovely place. We didn't have any projects or lectures to attend this time ... Got lots of time to explore the campus. I have not clicked any cliched snaps of The hostel, learning centre or the MDP, This is the campus from my view. 

I loved the houses they have for the profs. Lucky people. All greenery everywhere. and so quiet. 

 Sparkler for a plant?

 I felt as if they have all gotten up in the morning to greet us. I was out of bed at 530 have clicked these snaps at around 630. Sun rises early in the east and like last time, I got up to the sound of birds. Not as many as last time but it was a wonderful feeling never the less :)

 The white plant attracted me. I wish I could get some tips from the gardener of XLRI :)

 This is outside the library. The library is awesome. I barely spent some half an hour there this time.

 Such an amazing site na? I can't recall the name of the plant, but it had these amazing flowers that you see on the ground. A carpet of fallen flowers.

This tree is called the Mast Tree. I swear, Zoom and see the board. One lovely thing about XLRI is that it has these boards on almost all the trees, so that I didn't have to scratch my head, take snaps and then try to google the name.

 I love periwinkles. In my house too, I have mixed the white ones with the pink ones. Was so excited to see the same at the campus.

I felt as if the plant is trying to give me a high five. :P 

 oooh, I wish every house had an entrance like this.

 Lovely birds at XL. Amongst the common sparrows, crows, pigeons and Mynah, 

I believe this is the bulbul. I heard it sing early morning. A wonderful experience.

 Another wonderful experience was cracking fallen leaves. Hihihi

 I liked how they have alternated the plants. It looks so lovely from a distance.

The butterfly again. :)  

I actually got tired of clicking snaps. I never believed that this day could come where I would get tired of exploring nature. I was overwhelmed with the variety of flowers. Too much for one walk. 

 This is the reason for the visit and the end of the journey.

From Ranchi to XLRI, Jamshedpur

Please hold on till all the photos upload. Trust me, you will not regret this. This is a very special trip. These are pics from my trip to my convocation ceremony at Xlri. I have awaited this certy since 2006. Finally...

There is a small description for each photo so that it makes sense. This trip was impossible without Chintal Patel who convinced me to come and Prashant Trivedi, my partner in crime ;) to our silly adventures on the way and Abu Mohamid who guided us through out the way

  I was watching the beautiful clear sky and the lovely mother earth down when this white thing sparkled and caught my attention. I wondered what it was and took out my camera to click some snaps never the less, I was trying to figure it out and nothing but the Himalayas felt correct. Just then, The captain announced that we are about 40 minutes from patna and, the people sitting on the left hand side of the plane can see the himalayas.

These are the lovely himalayas. I swear I had tears in my eyes when after the announcement. The Himalayas were in vision for about half an hour and trust me, worth the money i spent on the trip. :) Next wish, to see it upfront ;)

After having landed at Ranchi and seeing Dhoni about 10 feet away, we took a cab to XLRI. Our driver stopped at this pump for gas, and we cribbed a little. He should have done it before hand na?

But guess what destiny had stored for us, An all women operated petrol pump. Cool na?

 This is the Madhu Batika. I had read that they have the best flavored honeys. Damn cheap too. 180 for 1 kg. This is about 15-20 minutes from the airport. Your taxi driver should take you there.

 The road from ranchi to Jamshedpur is very scenic and pretty. Lovely trees. We were slightly afraid of the naxals as our driver told us that out of the 130 kms, 100 is infested by naxals. They don't trouble tourists though. So worth traveling on this road. I am glad I did.

 All lovely trees, reminded me of Farmville :P

This is the entrance gate to Surya Mandir. I had read that this is made of one stone. That came out to be a lie, but the temple is indeed very very pretty.

 We found the horses laughing . :D

 Though photography is not allowed inside the temple, I clicked this snap before being told that. Lovely window na?

 This is the famous deori mata mandir. This is where Dhoni comes.

 Hazaron khwaish aisi, ki har khwaish pe dam nikale.

 We reached Jamshedpur in 4 hours with 3 halts at 80km/hr

 Went out in the evening to explore the city a little. Found mouth watering jalebi's at Chappan Bhog. Also ate Puchka (Pani Puri) there, but didn't click a snap :)

This concludes my journey to XLRI, more snaps of XLRI in some time.
